🧑🏻‍💻 About the role

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team to scale and support our platform to meet the needs of hotels all around the globe.

The backend of the Mews is built with .NET Core and is deployed on Azure using services such as App Service, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Redis, and many others. We also use Pulumi for IaaC. We’re committed to providing high availability, high scalability, and multi-regional support. We continuously deliver and integrate our code using Azure DevOps and GitHub.

Projects you could help us with:

Build data centers outside of Europe
Adopting infrastructure as code with Pulumi
Adopting Azure Service Bus and migrating our queues and other background processing towards that
Establish the practice of load and stress testing of our infrastructure
Prevent our main operational database to be the single point of failure

Develop features and improvements to the infrastructure
Continuously contribute towards improving availability, reliability, scalability, observability, and performance of Mews
Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices
Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review
Be part of agile process meetings like planning or retrospectives
Contribute to solutioning of larger architecture problems
Own your code from localhost to production, respond to incidents and be on-call
Continuously help improve SRE processes
Keep up with current industry trends in your domain
🤝️ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

Experience with developing and maintaining scalable and resilient cloud (not necessarily Azure) infrastructure
Experience with operating in SRE team
Strong interest in new technologies and trends and ability to apply them in practice
Effective communication in English

We want to get to know you, so it’s only fair we tell you a little bit about ourselves first. We were founded in 2012 by a team of former hoteliers, and since then we’ve been transforming hospitality for both hotel staff and guests.

Essentially, Mews is a powerful software platform that acts as a central nervous system for hotels, hostels, apartments and more. We use smart tech and automation to make day-to-day operations easier for hoteliers, so they can focus on the thing that really matters: providing remarkable guest experiences.

More than 2,000 properties across 60+ countries are powered by Mews, with more joining every week. Bookings, payments, operations, guest management – everything a hotel needs to operate can be done through our solution. We work with some amazing hotels, including Sage Hospitality Group, Machefert Group, The Student Hotel, and Tsogo Sun Hotels.
