We are looking for a Principal System Research!

Your main duties will be:

• Manage the complete system life cycle of assigned systems (Planning, Implementation, Maintenance and Decommission) and ensure the systems are compliant with the IT regulations of Boehringer Ingelheim.
• Perform a liaison function between the business and internal or external providers of technical services. In close partnership with key business stakeholders determine/gather user requirements, present possible solutions or improvements and prioritize demands on IT services
• Perform system support, administrative and maintenance duties for assigned systems.
• Support goals by participating on or by leading international projects. Deliver on assigned tasks and action items.
• Cooperation with Research and look for opportunities to creatively use IT techniques to maximize the value delivered by IT to Research

The person that we look for:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Strong professional Knowledge in using technologies like Windows, Linux, Databases (e.g. Postgres, MSsql, Oracle) and web-based technologies in a complex network environment to allow installation of programs and troubleshooting.
• Solid experience participating in full-system implementation life-cycles (analyse, design, build, test, implement, support & documentation)
• Curiosity in natural sciences, especially Biology
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Experience working in a virtual, international and multicultural environment.
• Willingness and readiness to travel.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, problem solving, Ability to find innovative approach/solutions.
